about

Mike Rathke's first concept album, The Harlot and the Bride portrays the saga of a pastor living in a post-apocalyptic world. The songs follow the emotional drama that the characters face throughout the tale. Let it Go is the opening track and first single from the album. The song is a first-person telling of the protagonist's background, leading up to his harrowing escape into the woods of the Pacific Northwest. The remaining six songs follow the character arc of the protagonist and his journey. The story is also being written into a feature-length film script under the same title.

Euphonically, The Harlot and the Bride can be described as a pleasant mixture of Johnny Cash, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and Joe Purdy. The songs radiate feelings of hope, despair, joy, love, and determination.
